Visibilitas is an independent observatory that measures how AI assistants answer questions about businesses, professionals and creators. It publishes the methodology and the open data behind every report.
The reports. Every report is published with its findings, its rankings and the complete raw dataset, free to download. The method behind it — questions, engines, counting rules — is published and frozen before data collection begins.
01What does Visibilitas do?
Visibilitas regularly asks the leading AI assistants — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews — a fixed set of questions of the kind people actually ask when they look for a business, a professional or a creator: which clinic to book, which practice to trust, which expert to follow. It records the full answers and the sources they cite, and publishes the results together with the raw data. Every report can be reproduced: prompts, dates and data can be downloaded by anyone.
02How does a report work?
A report follows three steps, always in the same order.
1. Frozen methodology. Prompts, engines, dates, locations and counting rules are defined and published before collection begins. No parameter changes while a collection is under way.
2. Collection. Each prompt is submitted to every engine several times, on different days within the declared period. The full text of every answer and every cited source is recorded.
3. Open publication. Findings, rankings and the raw dataset are released together, under an open license. Anyone can repeat the collection and check the results.
03Why an observatory?
More and more people ask an AI assistant which clinic to book, which dentist to trust, which agent to call or which creator to listen to. Those answers shape real decisions, yet nobody keeps a record of them: they appear on a screen, persuade, and vanish, with no way of knowing how often a business is recommended, or on the strength of which sources. Visibilitas makes this measurable. With a public method, declared before any result, it queries AI assistants at regular intervals the way real users do, and records and publishes all the data. A window on the answers of what many people now treat as the new digital oracles.
Rankings measure presence in the answers of AI engines. They do not confer titles, credentials or any judgment of professional quality.
04Who is behind it?
Reports are produced by Fabrizio Lo Surdo, founder of visibilitas.org. Visibilitas is published by Visibilitas Lab, a non-profit company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales. Structure, funding and the safeguards of independence are set out on the Transparency page.
